Her Big Girl Job

After sitting thru 2 days of orientation Brenna started her "big girl job" yesterday. Her words, not mine! She is working in the ER of a small hospital in Mesa, Arizona Regional. They are starting her at the sister hospital for her training though. It's only 30 beds and not so busy so it will give her a good chance to get procedure down before she is thrown into the fire, so to speak.



She was pretty nervous yesterday when she left, but she has a great nurse acting as her preceptor and she settled in to the routine right away. A lot of the staff came over from her other hospital, Tempe St Lukes, to start these hospitals, so she knows a lot of people already. Plus, they are using the same paperwork systems and after being the unit secretary for the last year in the ER, she could probably train them on the paperwork! It is going to make the transition much easier for her, so that makes me happy.

Brenna really knows her stuff and is going to make a great trauma nurse one of these days. She has to do her time in the smaller ER's and work her way up, but I know she will get there. Life is falling into place for her and it's great to see her so happy. She is even dating a new guy! Lets all keep our fingers crossed that maybe she has kissed her last frog. :0)
