Making Moonshine!

This is my handsome husband, Ron. He is probably going to kill me when he realizes he was in his worst "around the house" pair of shorts! But Ron has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of fresh cherries in the grocery store and yesterday was the first day I found them.

When we were in Montana for the wedding the first of the month, Ron was introduced to Cherry Liquor at the bachelor party. He came back to the hotel that night talking about these cherries with a serious kick. I mentioned it the next morning and all of a sudden a jar of cherries was produced for me to try out too. Let me tell ya, these things will put hair on your chest, but they were yummy!

So, Ron got the instructions from his new step Uncle Harvey who mass produces these things. It's not real hard. A pound of sugar, cherries and vodka. Sit in a cool, dark place for at least 7 months and wha-la!

Ron ordered a cherry pitter off of eBay for $3 and got down to business the minute he law the cherries in the refrigerator. It was pretty messy and he had cherry juice everywhere in no time at all. But I have to admit he cleaned up after himself very well.

This is what the finished product looked like when he was done. I kind of thought it was pretty, to be honest.

Now we just have to wait 7 months. We figure we can break this baby out again for New Year's Eve!
