Note to self: Need to puppy proof the house better!

Daisy found a tube of Desitin last night and got it ALL OVER herself! It was pretty funny until she started vomitting about a half hour later. Seemed fine after she got it out of her system but the next hour or so we could hardly wake her up. Got me scared, so had Brenna call the vet who told her to call poison control! They wanted us to get her to a vet right away, so that really got me upset.

Off we went to the doggie ER at 10:00pm. Daisy started waking up at this point and by the time we got there, she was acting like herself, but they needed to check her blood levels and stuff. I guess the Desitin is pretty toxic and can cause bad anemia which would shut her systems down pretty quickly. Luckily, all her levels are fine and they shot her up with Pepsid to calm her tummy. She is her normal, playfull little self this morning.

It was kind of an expensive lesson though. $110 just to walk thru the doors. Total bill was $186, so it could have been a lot worse. We are just glad she is okay.

And the picture? Typical dog. She likes to sleep on her back with it all out there for everyone to see!
