Fun Day & Some Good News!

Yesterday Brenna and I pretty much covered the valley from one end to the other. It all started with finding a dress. You know how important that can be sometimes! We are all going on a cruise pretty soon and wanted to have some family pictures taken and always like to be color coordinated. After much thought and discussion, Brenna and I decided on a tan and black theme for these pictures. You might remember we went with black and yellow last time we coordinated as a family when Ron's mom got married.

Anyway, we decided on black shirts and tan shorts for the guys. That's easy enough! They are happy I'm not making them wear a suit and tie, so all is good. I have a couple of black dresses hanging in my closet to choose from, so again, easy enough. Brenna didn't have anything great, so she was the one we went shopping for. She had gotten a dress at NY & Co two months ago and remembered they had the same thing in black, so that's where we started. Of course, the dress was now on sale, but they didn't have any black ones left. Started calling around and found one in her size but it was on the complete other side of town, so it was going to be a road trip. Why these stores won't ship it is beyond me.

Off we went yesterday after the morning traffic died down. Took us 45 minutes or so to get over there, even with my lead foot. Found the dress on sale for $20 and it's totally perfect for what we want! Okay, so it was worth the drive. Back on the road we went and headed to Scottsdale. Now we need to accessorize!

While we were driving another 30 minutes back the other direction, Brenna got a call from the Endo doc. They had done blood work on her last week as she had been having some really high blood pressure for no reason. He was concerned it might have been Cushings Syndrome, which is basically a tumor on the pitutary gland. We've been a bit freaked out ever since that appointment but doc called with some great news! It's not that! Whew, no brain surgery for Brenna. Now they have moved on to Renal something or other, but this is much easier to deal with. She is going for a CT scan on Tuesday. Still no answers, but at least it isn't as awful as it could have been.

Once we had gotten that piece of good news, we were really in the mood to do some serious shopping! Let's celebrate! We walked the entire Scottsdale mall and found some great deals. Had a nice lunch too. As Brenna called it, we had a hard core, Chicago style shopping day. And boy, were we tired by the time we got home!
