A Saturday with the Family

Yesterday was really a nice day. Kind of laid back and just enjoyed being with my family. I had to get up and show some houses in the morning but by the time I got home everyone was up and moving. Brenna and Bry took the two white dogs for a really long walk, long enough that I had to hop in the car and go rescue them! Ron got a call from the guy who has his plane and we all went over to see it. Wow, was it ever beautiful! I think seeing it gave Ron some closure too, so that was good.

Later in the afternoon we drove up to Scottdale Pavilions and went to the car show there. This is the week every year that there are a ton of car auctions going on. Maybe you have heard of Barrett Jackson? That's the biggie and people come from all over the world for it. There are about 5 or 6 other auctions going on and I read in the paper this morning there was some Ferrari that sold for $2.09 million this week. Is that crazy or what? Who has that kind of money?

Anyway, there is a weekly car show at the Pavilions that is free to everyone and it's fun to just walk around and see the beautiful cars. Brenna and Bry went with us and you would think Bry was a kid in the candy store. He seemed to really enjoy it too. The place was a zoo as this is always the best weekend of the year to go since so many people are in town for the auctions anyway. These aren't pictures from yesterday, but it gives you an idea of what it's like.






It's held in a strip mall parking lot, kind of in front of a Home Depot. There is a McDonald's that sponsors it and plays 50's songs over loud speakers the whole times. It's kind of fun to just walk around and sing along with the music. And of course I found my dream car. It's a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. This is what they look like and it's all about the fins, baby! There is no way this would even fit in the garage, much less on our driveway.



There was some car that made an appearance and drove thru the crowd that Ron and Bry got all excited about. It's like a $2 Million dollar car that was featured on the show Top Gear and goes like 300 mph. The crowd got really excited but we never could find it and decided it just drove thru to make everyone jealous. When we were done Bry headed home and Brenna went to dinner with us. I let Ron go to Four Peaks for dinner so he was just a happy guy last night. Planes, cars and beer. What more could a guy ask for?
