Got home yesterday from our 6th Annual Mother-Daughter beach vacation to San Diego. Brenna and I had a great time! If we weren't sitting on the beach then we were shopping! My idea of a perfect trip, to be honest.
We did have some excitement though. We got to the beach on Friday and found out nobody could go into the water since there had been two shark sightings.
An 18 inch fin had been seen Thursday afternoon just past the surf by some surfers. Friday morning, it was seen again in the surf, kind of like the picture below. This picture was actually taken in Australia a few years ago though. I thought it was pretty cool.
The lifeguard we talked to said he was told it was a great white shark and was at least 15 feet long. So, that was good enough for me and we didn't get in past our knees! It was still fun. We did go back on Sunday and got the all clear. We did get in the water, but didn't go as far out as other people, so I wasn't too worried about it. Brenna was a little freaked out though. She mostly spent her time hunting for sand dollars on the sand. She even found one that was still alive. It was pretty cool and tickled on your palm.
Other than beach and shopping, we didn't do much. Had some great meals and really just enjoyed the cooler weather. Came home to 114 degrees and heat advisories for the rest of the week. Yuck! Could somebody please turn down the temps a bit?
