The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

The Good:

Ron is taking his sabbatical from work and will be off from October 25th until January 7th! Every 7 years Intel MAKES their employees take a 7 week paid vacation to just recharge their batteries. Ron was eligible to take his second sabbatical last year, but we had decided to save the time and do a big anniversary trip next fall. Well, he was told they want him to move to the new factory that will be opening in the spring, so the timing wasn't going to work out with that. He really wants to make this move as it will be great for his career, so we decided to go ahead and take the time off a bit earlier than planned.

What is even better is that we are still going to do a big Europe trip for our anniversary! We booked it this week. We leave Nov 27 and fly to Munich to spend 3 days there. Then we will board a river ship and cruise the Danube to Vienna and visit different cities along the river and get to see all the Christmas markets! We will then spend 3 extra days in Vienna and come home Dec 11th. I am so excited I could just scream. I've done 2 river trips on the Rhine, but this will be a new one for me. Ron hasn't been to Europe since his Navy days and he is excited to see some sites in Germany as he likes WW2 history.

When we get back we will have about a week and then plan to go to Boise for Christmas to spend it with Aaron. AND Aaron is going to come home for 3 days for Thanksgiving too! The holidays are going to be wonderful!

The Bad:

We had to come home from San Diego! Brenna, my Mom and I had a great time in San Diego. It was a bit warmer and humid than we like it, but still much better than it was at home. We spent two days on the beach and two days shopping. Got lots of cute things shopping and we didn't get sun burned, so it was a successful trip! Brenna and I spent so much time in the waves and water that we kind of felt beat up and bruised, so that was kind of funny.

The UGLY:

Ron has an employee at work that is totally stressing him out. She has even gone so far to make some false accusations to HR that they are investigating, which causes more stress. The good part is that all of his managers have totally reassured him they know none of it is true and after meeting with legal, even they told him not to worry. Naturally I can't go into details, but we are hoping she actually gets fired over this.
